Every culture, nationality and religion has variations in their beliefs, and associated rituals, around death.
To mention a few, some celebrate it, such as those of Mexican descent who celebrate the Day of the Dead, which according to Wikipedia ‘involves family and friends gathering to pray for and remember friends and family who have died, and support their spiritual journey. In Mexican culture, death is viewed as a natural part of the human cycle…a day of celebration because their loved ones awake and celebrate with them.’
Buddhists believe that death is not the end of life, it is merely the end of the body we inhabit in this life, and our spirit is then reborn to a new body and a new life.
Some, such as the Catholic religion, believe in a sort of finality that’s associated with death, where the soul is judged, and either stands with God, or is condemned to an existence of damnation based on their actions in life.
Regardless of belief, we all share the commonality of our struggles to cope with our loss and grief.
Watch the evening news.
Daily, we see anguish on the faces of those who have just lost a loved one, and those tears and heartache are expressed globally, regardless of race, colour, creed, religion, or nationality. Grief is grief, that is universally human.
Perhaps we can ease the grief in some small, bearable way, by opening up our own channels of spiritual awareness and connectivity, particularly through the initial loss and grieving process.
I’ve listed five of the most important benefits that I have witnessed, time and again with clients when they open up their own channels to connect with their intuition and spiritual channels.
1) Receiving Closure
Opening up your channels involves accepting that you have chosen to do this for a specific reason. Whether it’s out of interest, or to connect specifically to a passed loved one, accepting that you’re able to talk to someone who has transitioned offers a sense of peace and closure.
2) Taking Ownership Over Your Intuition
Not having to rely on someone else to relay the messages cuts out the ‘middleman’ if you will. It enables you to personally sense, feel, and intuitively ‘see’ and ‘hear’, those loved ones, and draw on their energy in times of need. It’s an incredibly empowering feeling to be able to have full control over your intuitive impressions, messages and even thoughts and feelings at any time.
3) Understanding of the 5 W’s of the Spiritual World
Opening your channels is easier than many people think! Once you do, you’ll be able to identify who stands with you daily or in times of need, where they stand in relation to you and what each position symbolizes, when you should call on each for guidance and why they’re giving you guidance and direction in the first place. We also sneak the how in there to understand how each energy reaches out to connect with you.
4) Gaining Clarity
“Was that a sign or just the wind?” Often in times of grief, we try to find signs in everything and everyday occurrences that we may not have noticed before. By opening up your channels you’ll see things more clearly and be able to decipher what’s a sign and what is simply a sensitivity to your surroundings.
5) Managing Fear
Understanding the other side, and that it really isn’t scary at all releases you from fear of your own mortality and death, and replaces this uncertainty with the ability to fully trust that your transition will reunite you with those who have passed before you.
When we embrace the realty that we have this remarkable natural ability to connect to the spiritual world, and those we love on the other side, we become unencumbered and live our lives more fully and joyfully. Most importantly though, it allows us to deal more effectively with our grief, and replace some of that unbearable anguish with the ability to celebrate their lives, knowing they watch over you and patiently wait for you on the other side.
If you’d like to open yourself up to benefits 1 through 5, I invite you to join me on Sunday, October 20th for a full-day workshop that is all things intuition and mediumship!
